About us

We are a non-profit organisation – a group of amateur artists working in pastels, ink, watercolours, acrylics and oils. We have a love of making art and are mostly exhibited artists.

We give each other advice and mutual support, a creative hobby, convivial company and companionship, important for people of all ages, and especially the good mental health of people who no longer have the workplace environment which they have been used to in earlier years. We hold art classes on Monday mornings.

There is much friendly chatter and repartee, but we still manage to get some art done as well. We also have an annual Christmas meal.

In the summer we have seven weeks of Mondays doing outdoor sketching in local venues. We also have a subsidised annual coach trip in the summer where we venture farther afield to do our sketching also en plein air. Our coach trip in the summer of 2019 was to Holy Island. Here a picture of our day out, where the weather was glorious.
